As for your daughter. She will change her tune when she hits about 18 or so and needs college money. Right now, she’s still in that pajama party phase in her life and she doesn’t want mom and dad prying into her social interactions.

Wow, this is good stuff! I often times feel like I am called to use my talents and people sometimes react like I am crazy. I recently started playing drums at home and church. The initial reaction by others was, no way, including my wife. I chose to follow what I feel called to do at this time anyway and now we have a new drummer at church, ME!!

But going deeper, it’s not about the drums or my talents and abilities. I am not the best drummer in the world nor am I perfect, yet I am doing a decent job. It’s really about serving and supporting our church which lifts up God and doing it with passion. I am supporting our worship leader trying to make him comfortable by supplying him with someone dedicated and committed. Stabilization is needed in our worship. That’s really what this is about, not my own immature intentions. If it were just that, I would go join a bar band and jam in a garage band or something.

Find out what God wants you to do and go with it, even if it does not seem like what you should be doing to others.

Dude you so describe me and my wife. I don’t like to admit that I have needs and she refuses to attempt to meet any needs but her own so the wall gets built a brick at a time. Then she complains “you never talk to me”. Duh!

VERY good stuff. love it. we have to accept that times are changing and the model of “christian” and “church” are broken. our defined view of success and Gods may not be the same. He may not care if we have thousands in our service if we can not love the ones that he has put in our care.
